  2. To be truly seen … you have hit upon the true essence required in every relationship, starting with being truly seen by one’s family of origin and then moving on other important relationships. And to have the wisdom to walk away when you aren’t. Brava.

  3. Thank you Lisa. Yes, that’s it. To be truly seen. Actually, I guess my writing is a way I offer myself up to be seen. I feel it’s a gift when people share themselves, let themselves be seen, especially in their vulnerability — their strongest AND most fragile side. It’s why I love memoirs. If someone isn’t interested in receiving that gift, that of course is their prerogative, but then I don’t need to receive their mansplaining either. Moving on.. 🙂
